Utility crews in the Omaha/Council Bluffs Metro area are involved in a massive power restoration effort after the storms featuring destructive high winds.
Trees falling on power lines as usual, but outages even in Metro Omaha neighborhoods with buried power cables, a sign of the scope of electrical infrastructure damage.
Lincoln was also hit hard.
The City of Lincoln says its wellfield near Ashland is currently without electricity, so the city is asking that Lincoln residents stop all outdoor water use and voluntarily reduce indoor water use until further notice.
