(Des Moines, IA) -- Summit Carbon Solutions is pushing back against a request from opponents of their carbon capture pipeline who are asking the Iowa Utilities Commission to reconsider approval of the project. Summit says the request is perplexing. But at least three dozen Republican state lawmakers have issues with Summit's planned use of eminent domain to acquire land for the project.

State Representative Charley Thomson from Charles City speaking to Iowa's News Now says Summit's interpretation of eminent domain is unconstitutional. He says the project is also woefully under-insured.

The Sierra Club of Iowa says they're gearing up for a court battle believing the IUC won't reverse it's approval.
