(Davenport, IA) -- Two eastern Iowa schools are joining forces.
St. Ambrose University in Davenport, and Mount Mercy University in Cedar Rapids are entering into an agreement to expand academic offerings, athletic programs, and innovative opportunities to students at both campuses.
The agreement is subject to approval, and will take two years to implement.
It's the first step towards an anticipated merger of the two universities.
