(Omaha, NE) -- Omaha Public Power District has new estimates of how long it will take to restore power after Wednesday evening’s hurricane-force winds left a record over 218,000 customers without electricity. 32,000 customers should be back up by the end of Sunday, but the utility says it could come earlier. Approximately 12,600 should expect restoration by the end of Monday, barring unforeseen issues. 5,800 should expect restoration by the end of Wednesday.

According to the OPPD's power out map, 42,988 customers were still without power by early Sunday, though the numbers gradually came down through the day Saturday.
