(Iowa City, IA) -- Mercy Iowa City creditors are finally getting paid.

Creditors say bondholders finally got $16-million last week, and another $1.25 million yesterday.

The Cedar Rapids Gazette reports that those owed money from the Mercy Iowa City bankruptcy asked a judge to get involved in the case Friday, claiming the bankrupt hospital’s management team was stalling payments.

University of Iowa Healthcare bought Mercy Iowa City last fall, and took over operations of the hospital earlier this year.
