FEMA Approves $61 Million in Disaster Help for Iowa

DES MOINES, Iowa -- The Federal Emergency Management Agency has a dollar figure for assistance given to Iowa after a spring and summer of flood, tornadoes and other severe weather.

FEMA says more than $61 million has been approved for Iowa.

The agency says it's approved $56 million in Individual Assistance, with another $5 million in it's National Flood Insurance Program.

FEMA says more than 5,000 households across Iowa have been approved for assistance.

FEMA Individual Assistance is available to eligible homeowners and renters in Adair, Adams, Buena Vista, Cedar, Cherokee, Clarke, Clay, Dickinson, Emmet, Harrison, Humboldt, Jasper, Lyon, Mills, Monona, Montgomery, O’Brien, Osceola, Palo Alto, Plymouth, Polk, Pottawattamie, Ringgold, Shelby, Sioux, Story, Union and Woodbury counties.
