(Undated) -- Bicycle enthusiasts are about to peddle onto a nine-mile trail extension in central Iowa. The extension links the High Trestle and Raccoon River Valley trails, forming a nearly continuous 120-mile paved loop.

The Iowa Bicycle Coalition will lead a bike ride Saturday, August 17th, at 11 a.m. to mark the occasion. The ride will start at the Racoon River Valley Trailhead in Perry, ending with a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the trail connection at 1:00 pm.
