(Des Moines, Iowa) -- A man is in custody after leading police on a chase that ended in a crash on Des Moines' east side Wednesday evening.

The Des Moines Police Department says 19 year-old Parker Fenton was taken into custody after an officer tried to pull him over for speeding and erratic driving. Investigators say when the officer tried to pull Fenton over, he sped away, at times reaching 70 miles an hour in a 35 mile an hour zone.

Police say the chase ended when Fenton rear-ended another vehicle. Both he and the driver of the other vehicle suffered minor injuries. Police say marijuana and drug paraphernalia were found in Fenton's vehicle.

He's now facing multiple charges.
