(Cedar Rapids, IA) -- More than 20,000 pairs of shoes to people in 3rd world countries overseas thanks to an eastern Iowa free health clinic.
"His Hands Free Clinic" in Cedar Rapids says on Friday, more than 50 volunteers helped move 21,700 donated pairs shoes from Westminster Presbyterian Church into a semi headed for Orlando, Florida.
The clinic says it took the volunteers just over 3 hours to move all of the shoes into the semi-trailer.
From there, the shoes will be distributed to countries in need.
More than 24,000 pairs of shoes were collected as part of the project, with the rest staying here to help Iowans in need.
The clinic says its part of their quest to raise funds, keep shoes out of landfills, and help those in need.
