(Cedar Rapids, IA) -- Cedar Rapids is launching a program that can help residents prepare for the next disaster. It's called PACT, and it stands for Prepare, Act, Communicate, and Train.

Cedar Rapids Fire Chief, Greg Smith tells Iowa's News Now that “we really developed this program in order to kind of be a conduit. To put people in connection with whatever resources they need, whether that was sheltering resources, whether that was food, whether that was how to prepare for an emergency, how to react during an emergency."

You can find a link to information about PACT by clicking here.

Residents can also download the city's Mobile CR app to receive important messages and alerts by clicking here.
