Iowa head football coach Kirk Ferentz will reportedly be sitting out of this year's Hawkeye season opener.
The Athletic reports that Ferentz and Iowa Wide Receivers coach Jon Budmayr will both serve one-game suspensions for violations connected to the recruitment of Hawkeyes quarterback Cade McNamara while he was still at Michigan.
Ferentz will hold a press conference Thursday at 1:30 p.m.
Iowa hosts Illinois State at Kinnick Stadium on August 31st.
