(Urbandale, IA) -- An Urbandale man is facing charges after police say he tried to meet up with a girl under the age of 16.

The Polk County Sheriff's Office says 69-year-old Kevin Lind thought he was going to meet a 13-year-old girl and her mother at an Altoona hotel when he was instead met by investigators.

Police say the investigation began when a witness told them that they were contacted by Lind who was looking for help finding a mother and a young daughter that he could engage in sexual relations with.

Lind was arrested at the Motel 6 at 3225 Adventureland Drive at around 8:42 p.m. Wednesday with assistance from the Iowa State University Police Department.

Lind is facing charges including human trafficking, enticing a minor under 16, solicit commercial sexual activity, and conspiracy to commit a forcible felony
