(Des Moines, IA) -- Iowa's Governor says she has no plans to weigh in on an application for a casino in Linn County.

When asked about the issue at a news conference Thursday, Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds responded by saying, "that's why I have a Racing and Gaming Board and that's why we have a legislative body."

A moratorium on new casino licenses that Reynolds signed two-years ago expired in June.

The Racing & Gaming Commission is awaiting the results of a study of the effect on a Linn County casino on other casinos in Iowa, before issuing a recommendation in early February.
