(Davenport, IA) -- Video of a Davenport police officer shooting and killing a family dog is sparking outage online.
The footage was shared on social media by the dog's owner. In it, the dog is seen running at the officer while barking.
The officer backs up before firing two shots, killing the canine.
Davenport Police say the officer was responding to a complaint about aggressive dogs.
They aren't saying whether the officer was bit.
