(Cedar rapids, IA) -- A man whose five year-old daughter wandered off from a Cedar Rapids School unnoticed says he's not looking for retribution.

John Thompson's daughter left Pierce Elementary in Cedar Rapids unattended on Monday to find her brother believing she was in trouble. A stranger found her and drove her home.

It was ten minutes after that before the school called about her absence.

Thompson says his family's primary concern is the safety of students.

He says he feels the School District sees the shortfall, and is ready to talk about policy changes to avoid something like this happening again.
