(Rock Island, IL) -- The city of Rock Island approves the demolition of the Saukie Golf Course Clubhouse.
The city received $901,800 from the state to replace the 95-year-old clubhouse which will feature indoor hitting bays, two golf simulators, course-facing outdoor seating, meeting spaces and more.
It will also include fully accessible starting and ending points for golfers while providing a year-round all-season space for learning and enrichment activities.
The demolition is expected to cost just under $14,000 with its replacement estimated to cost $850,000.
The city says they hope to break ground this fall.
