(Omaha, NE) -- Omaha Police are releasing more details after an officer-involved shooting last week. Omaha Police Chief Todd Schmaderer identified the victim as 37-year-old Cameron Ford during a press conference on Sunday.

"Mr. Ford was shot in the chest, through the left side," Schmaderer said, and that despite guns being present at the scene, 37-year-old Cameron Ford was not holding a weapon at the time of the shooting.

"Ford had a gun by his bed, and did not grab to use it," Schmaderer told reporters, "There is no way the gun could have fallen out of Mr. Ford's hand and landed where it did by his bed and bedroom. That wouldn't have been possible, so he was unarmed."

The shooting came as Omaha Police were serving a "no-knock" warrant at the home.

Schmaderer says the actions of the officers involved was not out of place, and that CPR was performed on the victim, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

The officer that discharged a firearm is identified as Adam Vail. According to Schmaderer, Vail has been placed in an administrative role pending the investigation.

Omaha police also said 46 grams of suspected fentanyl powder, 816 fentanyl pills, nearly 300 grams of marijuana, and narcotics sales equipment were among the evidence seized from the scene.

The case will now be presented to a grand jury.
