3,579 Enforcement Stops Made By The ISP Over The Labor Day Holiday

(Iowa) -- Data from the Iowa State Patrol's Labor Day traffic safety project, shows 3,579 enforcement stops were made.

The Iowa State Patrol says through its Combined Accident Reduction Effort or CARE project, there were 2,181 stops for speeding, 16 driving under the influence stops, 140 motorists assists, 33 crashes, and 2 fatal crashes from August 30, 2024 to September 2, 2024.

CARE is a national program designed to unite state-level law enforcement agencies in reducing traffic accidents, especially during high-traffic holiday periods.
