Charging Decision In Omaha Officer-Involved Shooting

The Douglas County Attorney makes a charging decision in a fatal, officer-involved shooting in northwest Omaha.

Don Kleine says the use of deadly force by Omaha Police SWAT team member Adam Vail was legal.

Investigators say 37-year - old Cameron Ford was shot and killed as police tried to serve a federal "no-knock" warrant and make an arrest at a house near 78th and Redick Avenue last week.

Police say Ford was not armed when he was shot, but a weapon was found nearby.

A grand jury will still investigate under state law, which calls for an investigation whenever someone dies in custody or while being taken into custody.
