(Lincoln, NE) -- A student is accused of showing off a gun at a Lincoln school. Police were called to Belmont Elementary School Thursday after the student reportedly showed it to other classmates.
The school put the building on hold and searched the student and building, but nothing was found until about an hour later. Another student found the gun in a restroom.
Police say the gun was rusty and inoperable, and was not loaded.
The child responsible for bringing the gun to school could face legal and in-school consequences.
