New Omaha School Budget Reduces Property Tax Levy 9% This Year

(Omaha, NE) -- The Omaha Public School District budget for the new school year is approved . It includes a nine-percent decrease in levies. But Omaha property values are up over seven-percent. A homeowner whose property is valued at $250-thousand dollars would pay an average $2,770 dollars in property taxes to the school district this year.

Omaha Public School District staff will get a 16-percent pay and benefit increase. About 82-percent of the 2024-2025 OPS budget goes to staff salaries and benefits.
