(Kossuth County, IA) -- Two people are hurt after a house explosion in northern Iowa. The Kossuth County Sheriff's Office says the blast this (Monday) morning trapped two people in the home, at 606 110th Street, southeast of West Bend.
The Kossuth County Sheriff's Office says a 911 the call came in around 9 o'clock this morning, in which the caller described debris in the acreage and the roads, and that it appeared the house had exploded. First responders rescued 44-year-old Catherine Fleischhacker. Twenty-one-year-old Brett Lanning was able to crawl out of the debris on his own. Both were taken to area hospitals.
The Iowa State Fire Marshall's Office is investigating to determine the cause of the explosion.
