(Des Moines, IA) -- A Des Moines woman is facing charges accused of neglecting her dog to the point of severe malnutrition.
Court documents show 22-year-old Brooklyn Crone was booked into the Polk County Jail after she brought her adult dog, Thor, into a local animal hospital in early August showing signs of chronic neglect.
WHO 13 reports the veterinarian reported Thor to Animal Service's after reporting the dog had a score of 5-Emaciated on a scale of 1-9 on the Tufts Animal Care and Condition Scale.
Thor has been under the care of the Animal Rescue League of Iowa since August 30 and has since gained back 17 pounds.
Crone is barred from adopting Thor and is charged with animal neglect with injury.
