(Cedar County, IA) -- Residents of one eastern Iowa county can receive free weather radios.
The Cedar County Emergency Management Agency is receiving a grant to hand out several NOAA weather radios to residents thanks to a grant from the Cedar County Community Foundation.
Jodi Freet, Director of the Cedar County Emergency Management Agency, says residents need to "complete a family emergency plan. Bring that to us, and we'll take a look at it. We might talk to you a little bit about your plan, but once you leave, you're going to walk out with a fully programmed, ready to go, weather radio to help keep you and your family safe."
