LINCOLN, Nebraska --Drought and near-drought conditions are expanding across Nebraska.
This week's US Drought Monitor Map from the University of Nebraska's National Drought Mitigation Center is showing a statewide expansion of abnormally dry conditions--especially south of the Platte River.
The new map still shows areas of moderate and severe drought in the Panhandle and in Southeast Nebraska.
There are also small pockets of moderate drought in the northeast part of the state.
More than three-quarters of Nebraska has drought or near-drought conditions.
