(Sioux City, IA) -- Travelers south of Sioux City and onto or off of Iowa Highway 141 at Sloan may experience some travel delays starting next Monday, September 23rd. The Iowa Department of Transportation says that ramps at Sloan Exit 127 will be repaved, with the construction expected to last until October, weather permitting. The DOT says travelers should be aware of delays caused by the paving project.

The DOT says during the closures, oversize loads will not be permitted through the cities of Salix or Sloan and the following marked detours will be in place.

The DOT further states for detours:

  • Southbound Detour: Traffic will be directed to Exit 134 (Salix—Poplar Street/275th Street), then routed to K45/Old Hwy 75, and back to IA 141 (Sloan).
  • Northbound Detour: Traffic will follow IA 141 (Sloan) to K45/Old Hwy 75, leading to Salix—Poplar Street/275th Street.
