(Des Moines, IA) -- The 4th Annual Des Moines Freestyle Open begins this week and give skateboarders of all skill levels the opportunity to compete for prizes.
The competition begins on Thursday, September 19th with a 5pm welcome party at Cowles Commons. There will also be competitions and events throughout the day on Friday and Saturday. On Saturday at 11am, 50 skateboards will be given away to children ages 10 years old or younger in a giveaway sponsored by Give Skateboarding and Skate DSM at Lauridsen Skate Park in downtown Des Moines. Skaters of all skill levels can register to compete in "cash for tricks," where they can perform a trick and stand to win cash prizes.
