(Marion County, IA) -- Emergency medical service is now an essential service for Marion County after a County Board of Supervisors vote.
The board voted last week to consider emergency services essential to the county. An EMS council will work to calculate the cost to taxpayers in Marion County. Once the council reaches a conclusion on the cost, a referendum will be held for county residents to vote on.
The county says it hopes to hold a vote on the EMS services proposal before the November election.
