(Centerville, IA) -- An Iowa teen is facing charges in connection with threatening graffiti found at Centerville High School Tuesday.

Police say the 17-year-old was taken into custody today following an investigation into graffiti written on a classroom table that threatened school violence, signed by another students name.

Police determined that the student's name that was written with the threat was not who wrote it.

Tips from the public and information on the Safe & Sound Iowa website led investigators to the teen.

The teen is charged with threat of terrorism, a class D felony.

The name of the teen has not been released.
