(Iowa City, IA) -- Iowa City is considering banning sales of the herbal supplement Kratom over concerns it's unsafe.
Matthew Lowe, executive director of the Global Kratom Coalition tells Iowa's News Now says there is a lot of confusion and misinformation about Kratom. he adds that a local ban will only drive responsible Kratom sellers from the market and leave bad actors to fill the void.
Councilmember Megan Alter said the council is still in the early stages of discussing the issue and need more clear information.
