(Smithton, PA) -- Consumers buying some John Deere products may have to pay more for them depending on the outcome of the election. While campaigning in Pennsylvania Monday, former President Donald Trump threatened a 200% tariff on any products Deere exports production of out of the country.

Deere & Company announced earlier this year that they'll move production of skid steer loaders and compact track loaders from Dubuque to Mexico in 2026.

Trump didn't respond when asked if he was concerned that tariffs on manufacturers like John Deere would increase costs for farmers.

The former President signed The United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) in 2020, prohibiting the use of tariffs on most goods produced in one of the three countries and exported to the others.
