(Iowa) -- The Iowa State Fire Marshal has burn bans in place until further notice for three Iowa counties due to dry conditions.

Harrison County in southwest Iowa, Adair County in southern Iowa, and Delaware County in eastern Iowa are all under burn bans until there is enough rainfall to improve conditions.

Delaware County Iowa Emergency Management says the use of outdoor fireplaces, barbecue grills, properly supervised landfills, or the burning of trash in incinerators or trash burners made of metal, concrete, masonry, or heavy one-inch wire mesh, with no openings greater than one square inch is still allowed.

If a person needs to burn something, a burn permit can be requested from their local fire chief.
