(Lincoln, NE) -- This year's Hunting and Fishing Day in Nebraska is coming up this weekend.
Governor Jim Pillen officially declared this Saturday the 28th as National Hunting and Fishing Day in the state. Nebraska Game and Parks says more than 450-thousand people hunt and fish on in the state, supporting local economies and conservation efforts.
The department says it encourages people to celebrate by spending time in nature. Nebraska has held official Hunting and Fishing Days since 1972, and the fourth Saturday of every September.
