(Des Moines, IA) -- Gunfire sent some restaurant patrons in Des Moines scrambling to the floor early Friday evening. Chris Funk and his 10-year-old son were picking up an order of food when they heard shots, near 28th Street and Ingersoll Avenue.

"All of of a sudden we heard shots and we ducked and covered in the restaurant, I heard three shots," said Funk. He said they later noticed one person who appeared to have a gunshot injury. An Ambulance later transported one individual to a Des Moines hospital.

The area was busy, with dozens of people walking or driving to local restaurants. After the shooting, police strung yellow police tape up to block the sidewalk, so investigators could begin their work.

Police say shortly after the shooting a man and woman showed up at the hospital with non-life threatening gunshot wounds that appeared to be connected to the shooting on Ingersoll. Police say a 4th person had a minor injury after being hit by debris.
