Cedar Rapids Teen Is Kid Captain For Iowa-Ohio State Football Game

(Iowa City, IA) -- A Cedar Rapids teen is this week's Hawkeye football "Kid Captain." Haidyn Ulrich started having neck pain and began sleeping for lengthy periods of time when she was seven. She was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia and began treatment at University of Iowa Stead Family Children's Hospital. when she was seven. She's been cancer-free for six years after treatment at University of Iowa Stead Family Children's Hospital. She was named after former Iowa football coach Hayden Fry, and is an avid Hawkeye fan.

Now 16 and a junior in high school, the Cedar Rapids teen enjoys show choir and performing in musicals and is a straight “A” student and hopes to become a nurse. 

Iowa travels to No. 3 Ohio State this Saturday. Kick off is at 2:30.
