(Rock Island, IL) -- A groundbreaking event will take place tomorrow morning for Rock Island's Saukie Golf Course's new clubhouse.
The groundbreaking for the new clubhouse located at 38th Street and 31st Avenue will take place at 11:00 a.m. tomorrow, October 1.
The new clubhouse is designed to create a more welcoming and accessible experience for both golfers and the community, featuring a year-round indoor golf simulator, meeting spaces, seating areas, an office, kitchen and dining area, outdoor seating with a views of the course.
It will be located right in front of where the old clubhouse used to sit.
The Rock Island Parks and Recreation Department says the old 90-year-old clubhouse could no longer accommodate their new customer demographic.
It's scheduled to open in the spring of 2025.
