(Iowa City, IA) -- You can no longer buy Kratom in Iowa City.
At a controversial meeting, City Council banned sales of the legal Asian herbal supplement, despite one member of Council saying they have little evidence with which to do so.
City Council was also informed they had received hundreds of fake emails against the ban that were sent using the names of real Iowa City residents who claimed they never wrote them.
Council also updated a code banning new tobacco and vape shops from opening within 500 feet of schools or the University of Iowa.
