Nebraska Public Power District has a crew of technicians getting in place to help with power restoration efforts in the Southeast following Hurricane Helene.

A 15 person crew, including 12-line technicians, one fleet technician, and two supervisors, left the NPPD York Operations Center Thursday morning headed towards the Augusta and Savannah, Georgia areas.

They will coordinate with Georgia Power to identify where they can begin work to restore power.

Georgia Power reported having over 141,000 customers still without power as of Thursday.

NPPD crews assisting in the mutual aid come from Plattsmouth, Ainsworth, Atkinson, Bassett, Chadron, Humboldt, Kearney, Lexington, Norfolk, O’Neill, and Ravenna.
