(Des Moimes, IA) -- There’s a very high risk of cropland wildfires across Iowa today.

Dry conditions and gusty winds increase the danger of fast-spreading fires, according to the National Weather Service.

The EPA Fire and Smoke map shows three active fire areas in Iowa Sunday morning.

Three fires are reported burning west of Lake Aquabi, south of Des Moines; one wildfire is north of the Oakdale Recreation area in Wright County; and two wildfires are reported southeast of Ottumwa in eastern Keokuk County.

Fire map from U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. Also shows smoke plumes over Iowa from wildfires in Western Nebraska, Idaho, Wyoming, Oregon, and Washington.
