(Des Moines, IA) -- Governor Kim Reynolds is designating October as Co-Op Month in Iowa.

Nearly half of Iowans are members of a not-for-profit co-operative owned and governed by their members.

Co-ops cover a variety of sectors including rural electric and telephone, credit unions, farm credit, petroleum, and retail.
