(Cedar Rapids, IA) -- Law enforcement is identifying the man arrested Wednesday in Cedar Rapids after reports of gunfire near Westdale Town Center.
Police say Anthony Pennell was arrested on outstanding warrants and faces multiple charges after firing a gun a person trying to drive away from a confrontation outside Westdale Town Center. A criminal complaint in the case says Pennell pulled the gun from inside the purse of a female companion.
Due to a prior felony conviction in Johnson County, Pennell is not allowed to own or handle a handgun.
