(Undated) -- An Iowa dentist convicted of working on a patient while drunk has surrended his license.
The Iowa Dental Board charged Paymun Bayati from Waterloo for practicing dentistry in a manner harmful to the public late last year.
A report in the Cedar Rapids Gazette says he was convicted in April of performing a root canal while intoxicated on an inmate at the Anamosa Prison where he was the prison dentist.
Bayati claims he doesn't drink and that someone spiked his coffee that morning.
