Nebraska Congressional Race Reaching New Record High Spending

(Omaha, NE) -- Nearly fifty-million dollars has been spent so far on Nebraska's congressional elections, with the Omaha area CD 2 race setting new records.

Campaign finance disclosures for the Second Congressional District show U.S. Representative Republican Don Bacon raising five-point-six million dollars. Democratic challenger State Senator Tony Vargas six-point one million.

Outside groups have spent nearly 13-million dollars more, according to Open Secrets dot org.
