(Iowa City, IA) -- No one is injured after a small plane had to make an emergency landing on an Iowa City highway over the weekend.

The Iowa State Patrol says the bi-plane ran out of fuel at around 5:45 p.m. Saturday and was forced to land on Highway 218 near Melrose Avenue.

Iowa's News Now reports officials were able to push the plane onto the side of the road and resume traffic.

Authorities from the Eastern Iowa Airport confirmed the plane was safe to take off again.

The plane was refueled and took off from the Iowa City Municipal Airport shortly after.
