(Iowa) -- A statewide audit finds that non-citizens are voting and registering to vote in Iowa.

The Iowa Secretary of State's Office recently audited 2.3 million voter records, and found 87 people who self-identified as non-citizens who say they have voted, 67 self-identified non-citizens who registered to vote but have not yet voted, and 2,022 people who say they voted or registered to vote after self-identifying as non-citizens. It is a felony for non-citizens to vote or register to vote in Iowa.

The Iowa Attorney General and the Iowa Department of Public Safety say the non-citizens who voted or registered to vote may face prosecution.
