Drivers Ticketed For Speeding After Vigil For Man Who Died Road Racing

Drivers are ticketed for speeding as they leave a vigil for a man who died in a road racing crash Sunday.

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office says one of the attendees was cited for driving 73 MPH and another for 92MPH, both in a 45 MPH zone.

In a social media post today the Sheriff's office said, "In the aftermath of a 100mph+ fatality road racing collision at 144th and Hillsdale, candlelight vigil attendees respond by also driving at deadly excessive speeds.

Reckless, deadly and ridiculous."

The crash on Sunday killed 24-year-old Brenden Patire near where the speeders were caught.
