(Lincoln, NE) -- The Nebraska Public Service Commission sets a hearing date for Lumen concerning three separate service outages and disruptions affecting 911 communications.

The hearing will be in the Commission hearing room at 9:00 a.m. Monday, November 4th.

The Commission has set aside the next day at 9:00 a.m. should a second day be required.

The three separate Lumen outages and disruptions were in August of 2023, and April 17th & July 9th of this year.

An initial public hearing regarding the 2023 outage was held by the Commission earlier this year.

As the Commission expanded its investigation to include the two 2024 disruptions, it conducted additional data requests and sought analysis from outside experts on network infrastructure, specifically in the area of 911 network requirements.

During the hearing, Commissioners and legal counsel will ask questions of the telecommunications carrier.

Testimony may also include invited witnesses.

A decision regarding the investigations will be made at a later date.

As the proceeding is an investigatory one, public comment will not be taken.

The Commission hearing room has limited seating.

The proceeding will be online at https://psc.nebraska.gov/stream
