Iowa Soldiers Return From Kosovo

(CAMP DODGE, IA) -- Two Iowa National Guard units are back in Iowa, after a year-long deployment in Kosovo [[ KOH-so-voh ]]. The soldiers are with a Johnston-based Military Police unit and a Waterloo Aviation unit.

The soldiers were part of a NATO-peacekeeping mission.

The 33 soldiers with the aviation unit were involved in medical evacuation missions and training. The unit's Black Hawk helicopters were also used to fight a large forest fire, dropping more than 70-thousand gallons of water to fight the fire.
