(Omaha, NE) -- The Omaha Police union comments after a grand jury does not indict an Omaha Police Officer in connection with the fatal officer-involved shooting of Cameron Ford in August.

In a news release, the union said the grand jury validated that Adam Vail's split-second decision making, based on his perspective at the time, was consistent with the demands of his role in a rapidly evolving situation.

The Omaha Police Chief has called for Vail to be fired.

Investigators say Ford was unarmed when the SWAT team tried to serve a "no knock" warrant at a home in northwest Omaha.
