(Des Moines, IA) -- A new study examines homelessness in Polk County.

Drake University and the organization Homeward Iowa partnered on the study, which featured interviews with 10 families facing homelessness in the Des Moines metro. The study found that families who enter shelters often find the rules for time limits and behavior at shelters unclear and confusing. The study also found that the families interviewed considered finding independent housing their top priority.
